Featuring Contra-Tiempo: ¡Azúcar!
Contra-Tiempo: ¡Azúcar! brings an activist dance theater experience to the Bram Goldsmith Theater, where founder Ana Maria Alvarez guides an ensemble including Afro-Cuban Master Teacher Kati Hernandez through a story of sugar's complex history. The performance uses athletic movement and theatrical storytelling to explore ancestral memory and resilience while inviting the audience into an immersive space that dissolves the line between spectator and participant.
