Trinidadian soprano Jeanine De Bique, who has been making waves across Europe, joins the Apollo's Fire orchestra for a program that traces 18th-century ties between Europe and the Caribbean. Curated by Jeannette Sorrell, the concert pairs a suite from Handel’s *Agrippina* with a dramatic reading from a 1709 Caribbean funeral oration that mourns an enslaved man killed by his plantation owner. It’s a thought-provoking blend of baroque grandeur and historical reckoning.
