You Can’t Fake the Funk: A Journey Through Funk Music is a high-energy Black Ensemble Theater musical revue written and directed by Daryl D. Brooks. Hosted by the fictional Dr. Funk, it celebrates funk’s fusion of soul, jazz, and R&B through music associated with artists including James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic, Sly and the Family Stone, and Earth, Wind & Fire.
