Inspired by our new installations by Silvia López Chavez, we are looking to the intricate patterns and structures of the natural world and creating our own crochet coral reefs! Both in her new mural in the Museum Building and her interactive installation in the Sculpture Park, Chavez explores the micro and macro patterns that shape the natural world, from leaves and mushrooms to shells and other aquatic creatures. Many of these intricate natural structures can be modeled using crochet and other fiber art techniques!
