Catch Houston Symphony Concertmaster Yoonshin Song taking on Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 2, alongside the orchestra's powerful take on Shostakovich's Ninth Symphony and Borodin's Polovtsian Dances. The program also weaves in Khachaturian's Suite from the Ballet Gayane, making for a rich, roughly two-hour evening with a 20-minute breather in the middle.
