Jack Bishop presents new paintings at the Newzones Gallery of Contemporary Art that transform stretches of the Trans-Canada Highway into sculpted, ornamental landscapes. These works turn the drive through the wilderness into a transitional zone where shifting light evokes feelings of nostalgia and romance. Inspired by roadside vegetation, the exhibition reimagines familiar ditches and medians as dynamic spaces where color, illumination, and movement take the lead.
