Music of Remembrance opens its 2026/27 season, *Illuminations: Music for Our Shared Humanity*, with world premieres by Lori Laitman and Afghan composer Milad Yousufi, plus new choreography from Spectrum Dance Theater’s Donald Byrd and the Seattle debut of Jake Heggie’s *Camille Claudel: Into the Fire*. Across four programs, Artistic Director Mina Miller and the ensemble dig into personal stories behind global headlines—from refugees crossing dangerous waters to Afghan women reclaiming their voices. It’s a season of socially charged repertoire that puts human experience front and center.
