Zivanai Masango returns to his Zimbabwean roots at Pine Street Church, weaving together traditional drumming, mbira, and Afrojazz with Chimurenga protest music and Salvation Army influences. The performance traces the nation's journey toward freedom through a rich tapestry of sounds that honor the family homestead where newborn umbilical cords are traditionally buried.
