Featuring UH Mariachi Pumas
Genres: country/folk
The UH Mariachi Pumas Festival brings together middle and high school mariachi ensembles for juried, recorded performances and clinics, alongside a solo vocal contest for younger singers. All participants take the stage at the Moores Opera House, earning professional recordings and judge feedback, with the top groups and vocalists featured in the closing UH Mariachi Pumas Concert. It’s a solid showcase of student talent and a great way to catch the future of mariachi music in Houston.
