Homeschool families with kids ages 5–12 can team up to whip up an 1800s-style meal on the wood-burning stove in the sod village at Plains Conservation Center. Led by Denver Botanic Gardens staff, the two-hour session has everyone peeling, chopping, measuring, and mixing to make fresh applesauce, muffins, cookies, and butter. It’s a hands-on, tasty way to step back in time together.
