Chicago-based artist Mike Cloud brings his first solo museum show on the West Coast to the Hammer Museum, with three large, loosely abstracted portraits—including two new commissions—collaged from paper grocery bags, magazine ads, cash, and other printed materials. The installation, which scales the lobby wall's facade, also features works from his *Painted Clothing* series (2007–8), built from children's garments. It's a smart, tactile look at how social and political themes can live inside abstraction.
