Voltaire’s sharp satire meets Bernstein’s sweeping score in this staging of *Candide*, following its hapless hero through romantic letdowns, earthquakes, and run-ins with the Inquisition. Expect broad physical comedy alongside the philosophical bite as the optimist’s worldview gets put through the wringer.
