Opera Columbus and CAPA team up for a city-wide co-production of *Pirates! The Penzance Musical*, a jazzy, blues-soaked reimagining of Gilbert & Sullivan’s classic set in New Orleans. Columbus’ own Nina West stars as Ruth in this adaptation by Rupert Holmes, which blends opera, musical theatre, and Caribbean rhythms with the wit of the original. Frederic’s pirate life gets complicated when he falls for Mabel, sparking a whirlwind of swordplay and mistaken identities—performed in English with English captions.
