The Northwestern men's basketball program, known as the Wildcats, plays in the Big Ten and calls Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston home. Home games are played at Welsh-Ryan Arena, located on Northwestern's campus in Evanston, Illinois. Under coach Chris Collins, the team reached the NCAA Tournament in 2017, 2023, and 2024, after long stretches near the bottom of the conference. The Wildcats have advanced to the NCAA tournament three times, in 2017, 2023, and 2024 after being the only longstanding member of a Power Five conference to have never made the tournament.
