Featuring San Diego Symphony
Genres: classical
The San Diego Symphony presents this program under conductor Rafael Payare, with pianist Inon Barnatan as soloist in Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 and Mahler's Symphony No. 6, "Tragic." Mahler quotes Liszt's concerto near the opening of his symphony, extending the theme of destiny and mortality into a symphony scored for colossal forces.
