The United States premiere of *Land of Light* brings British composer and flamenco guitarist Howard Haigh’s masterwork for Spanish flamenco ensemble and chorus to Boulder, with Artistic Director Dr. Vicki Burrichter—herself a flamenco guitar player—leading the charge. The Chamber Chorale opens with "Suite de Lorca," setting Federico Lorca’s poetry to music by Finnish composer Einojuhani Rautavaara. It’s a rare, rich pairing of choral and flamenco traditions that’s well worth your ears.
