Peter Hook is an English bassist who helped found the post-punk band Joy Division and later played in New Order. His melodic, high-register bass style, often colored by a thick chorus effect, is central to both groups' sound, and his current group, Peter Hook & the Light, is devoted to performing their catalogues live.
