Featuring Soul Message Band
Genres: jazz/blues
Soul Message Band—organist Chris Foreman, drummer Greg Rockingham, and guitarist Lee Rothenberg—plays a free show at FitzGerald's Sidebar. Foreman, blind from birth, draws on the legacy of Jack McDuff and Jimmy Smith, having also worked with Hank Crawford and the Deep Blue Organ Trio; Rockingham, an Interlochen grad, has backed Glenn Miller's and Guy Lombardo's orchestras, while Rothenberg brings a Chicago jazz guitar pedigree. Expect a solid, straight-ahead organ trio set rooted in the jazz tradition.
