The Broad-MIT Seminar is a chemical biology lecture featuring Helen Blackwell, a University of Wisconsin–Madison chemist whose research uses synthetic molecules to study bacterial communication. Her work is especially known for developing chemical tools that modulate quorum sensing, the signaling bacteria use to coordinate behaviors such as virulence and biofilm formation.
