Featuring Luke Leavitt
Genres: jazz/blues, country/folk
Denver native Luke Leavitt brings his own groups’ national touring experience to a program of mostly original tunes from his latest release, *Cruel Optimism*, with nods to Cole Porter and Steve Lacy. He’s joined by tenor saxophonist Ian Skaronea, a sought-after soloist and educator who has performed at Birdland, Smalls, and Smoke in New York, for a set of atmospheric tone poems that blend folk sensibilities with experimental leanings. Together, they balance grounded melodies with adventurous, rhythmic exploration.
