Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts Northwestern University presents a reimagined *Taming of the Shrew*, set in a queer Texas drag bar where the staff and patrons stage the play to handle a difficult customer. This version of Shakespeare’s contentious comedy centers on the family chaos of Baptista, Bianca, and the defiant Katherina, with the oddball Petruchio claiming he can tame her—leading to a rough-and-tumble romance that puts gender and visibility front and center. Suggested for ages 14 and up, it runs about 2 hours and 30 minutes with one intermission.
